TERMS OF USE

Simple terms for using PicFeather

These terms explain how to use PicFeather’s image workflow responsibly and what to expect from its optional AI features.

Last updated: September 22, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using PicFeather, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. The service

PicFeather provides browser-based image compression, conversion, resizing, renaming, download, and optional AI-assisted metadata features. The service may change, be limited, or become unavailable while it remains a technical preview.

3. Your content and responsibilities

You must have the necessary rights and permissions to use any image, text, brand name, product information, or other content you provide. Do not use PicFeather for unlawful, infringing, harmful, or deceptive material.

You are responsible for reviewing exported files, filenames, and alt text before publishing them. Compression runs locally in your browser. Optional AI processing only begins when you select Generate, as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. AI suggestions

AI-generated filenames and alt text are suggestions, not professional, legal, accessibility, SEO, or factual advice. They can be incomplete or inaccurate. You must edit and verify every suggestion for your intended audience and use case.

5. Fair use and security

Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, security checks, or access controls; interfere with the service; probe for vulnerabilities; or use automated requests that place unreasonable load on PicFeather or its providers. We may limit or block requests that appear abusive or unsafe.

6. Availability and liability

PicFeather is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device or file, or error-free results. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PicFeather is not liable for losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.

Open-source components

Third-party open-source components retain their respective licenses. These terms do not limit rights granted by those licenses, including modifying the HEIC reader or reverse engineering it to debug modifications. The separately loaded HEIC reader uses libheif and libde265 under the LGPL; licenses, source archives, and build instructions are available here.

7. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as PicFeather evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date on this page. For questions about these terms, privacy, or the service, contact [email protected].
