CLEAR OUTPUT, SIMPLE CONTROLS

Built for repeatable publishing work

PicFeather is designed around a single batch workflow for compression, filenames, and image descriptions.

Compression and resize

Choose WebP or JPG quality, optimize PNG without quality loss, and resize a batch proportionally.

Consistent downloads

Filenames use lowercase kebab case, and duplicate names receive a clear numeric suffix.

Editable AI metadata

Create and revise kebab-case filenames plus English and Traditional Chinese alt text, then export the final mapping to Excel.

PRIVACY BY DEFAULT

Compression stays on your device

Compression and conversion stay inside your browser. AI runs only after you click Generate and sends a reduced preview with the optional context you entered; PicFeather does not store those previews or results. Read the full privacy policy.

COMMON QUESTIONS

PicFeather FAQ

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The current compressor decodes and converts images inside your browser. Closing or refreshing the page clears the working queue.

Which image formats can I use?

Accepts still JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF, and AVIF images and exports WebP, JPG, or PNG. HEIC/HEIF uses the primary photo; Live Photo motion is not included. Animations and SVG are not supported yet. Limits: 30 files, 25 MB per file, 150 MB per batch, 50 megapixels and 16,383 pixels per edge. HDR and wide-gamut colors may change when converted to standard-color output.

Can I control image quality?

Yes. WebP and JPG output use a quality value from 35 to 95, with Small, Balanced, and High presets. PNG output uses lossless compression and preserves full image quality.

Which output format should I choose?

WebP is a strong default for websites, JPG is widely compatible for photographs, and PNG is useful when you need lossless output or transparency. Transparent areas are filled with white when exporting JPG.

Can I resize a full batch of images?

Yes. Turn on Resize, choose a common maximum width or enter a custom width, and PicFeather will keep each image proportional without enlarging smaller files.

Can PicFeather create filenames and alt text?

Yes. PicFeather can analyze a reduced preview to suggest an English kebab-case filename plus editable English and Traditional Chinese alt text. Article context, brand names, and preferred terminology are optional, and primary keywords can target filenames, alt text, or both when relevant.

Can I export all alt text to Excel?

Yes. After processing and generating alt text, you can download an Excel file that matches every final image filename with its edited English and Traditional Chinese alt text. Batch ZIP downloads can include the same spreadsheet automatically.

What is sent when I use the AI feature?

Compression remains local. Only after you click Generate does PicFeather create and send a reduced image preview, up to 1024 pixels on its longest side, with any optional context you entered. PicFeather does not add storage for those previews or generated results.
